Educational Funding

You may find yourself searching for information to make the most of your own or the future generations potential, but are unsure of how you can go about it. Below is information and services which can help you to access funding and support to gain entry to educational institutions or for that course you thought you may not have been able to do due to financial constraints.

Family action

This is an organisation which allows you to search for funding to access education once you have agreed to the terms and conditions and filled in the details about the funds you seek. You will then be asked a series of general and personal questions. Once you have done this, you will be provided with a list of funding sources (if you are eligible based on the search criteria).

The funding is for School Children, Further Education Students and (some) Higher Education Students.

For independent schools

Funding for Independent Schools (FIS) provides a list of different organisations which provide information and access to funding for independent schools. This is for school-age children, between 4 and 18 years old.

Scholarship funding

This site provides funding information for courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and some pre-university courses.

Princes Trust

Grants are provided by the Princes Trust for underachieving school age children or young people who have left compulsory education and are untrained, unemployed and not in education.

There is a age limit for these grants:

  • The grant for under achieving school children is : 14-16 years old
  • The grant for those who are not in Education, training or work: 16 – 25 years old
